We are searching for a “hands on” Controller to work with our CFO and office staff to assist with all accounting activities, work with our excellent staff and customers and become a key member of our team. Responsibilities include:

• Working along with our CFO and staff to assist with day-to-day accounting operations, reconcile accounts, maintain the general ledger and assist with providing accurate and timely financial statements
• Working with customers, as needed, to assist our sales staff with related financial matters
• Assisting with cash flow management, reporting and projections
• Floorplan accounting and management
• Overseeing the employee time reporting process and working with our outside payroll company to be certain all payroll activities are completed timely and accurately.
• Assisting with dealership and business license renewals
• Working with our outside CPA firm to ensure sales tax data is accurately provided, returns are timely filed and all information needed for quarterly and year-end tax-related matters is provided promptly and accurately
• Assist with financial, accounting and tax matters of associated companies and owners, as needed

Requirements:

• Minimum of 10 years of on-the-job accounting experience, preferably in a related field
• Commitment to work at our Thurmont, MD office Monday-Friday, 9:00 – 5:00
• Full understanding of financial statements preparation and GAAP
• Familiarity with Integrated Dealer Services (IDS) software a plus
• Experience working in a multi-company environment a plus
• Ability to multi-task and tolerate interruptions
• Ability to gain enjoyment from working with customers
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
